Journey to the Center of the Earth: 1959
This is a classic sci-fi movie that involves the journey made by a woman and three men across the extinct Icelandic volcano that takes one to the center most part of the earth. In the expedition they encounter obstacles like floods, monster, dinosaurs, and also an evil adversary who will stop at nothing to ensure that he reaches the center of the earth first. This movie elevated the woman in society at the time when women were looked down upon. It included special effects and incorporated film stars like part bone, James Mason and Arlene Dahl. It was highly regarded at its time.
Invaders from Mars: 1953
This is one scary movie. It begins with David who is a young man. David stares at the night from his bedroom window and witnesses a flying saucer that lands in the sand pit in the vicinity of his home. He dashes to his father and informs of him of the same. The father investigates and disappears in the process. He returns the next day with a scar on his neck.
Over time many other people are spotted with similar scars in their necks. David’s story is not takes seriously by many initially but over time he is able to convince a scientist about his findings. The two work together and foil the alien’s mission.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: 1954
This is a must watch movie and incorporates a visually engaging interpretation of the classical movie by Jules Verne. This movie has provided many movie producers with the necessary motivation to repackage several movies and even successful TV programs of the past.
